- Successful drying off of Grace, the milk cow, without incident or issue.
- Harvest of beautiful multi-colored carrots, bullseye chiogga beets and an overabundance of radishes.
- The perfect song on the radio as I drove home from training. Late night and the Smiths blaring on the radio.
- Taking Tex out for a ride to the end of the road and back and having it make me feel so much better about the world.
- Purr, drool and biscuit-making therapy of the cats when I have a monster headache.
- Fried chicken from the local chain, “We Put A Boost In Your Roost.”
- Sunrise downward facing donkey.
- Passing (and kicking ass) on the Emergency Medical Responder in class test. I’ve finished all my paperwork and submitted it for approval for taking the state certification test.
- Being dubbed the “Ignatrix” for the St. Valentine’s Massacre party.
- A lazy day spend staying warm snuggled in bed napping, in and out of consciousness, resting up after a long drawn out several months of stress.
- Going to the local grocery store and running into friends (and scoring an awesomely healthy grape vine from said friend).
- Another lazy day spent watching themed movies on TV.
- Taking the whole day off work to eat, get drunk and feel sorry for myself only to have it be some kind of catalyst for positive change.
- Airstream trailers for sale…it’s SO tempting, like all of the potential in the world sitting in one little silver bullet shaped shiny trailer….
- Beer cheese and heart shaped pretzels with my love.
- Fancy dinner (roasted bone marrow, steak tartare and malpeque oysters) and realizing that the “faux farmhouse” feel of the fancy restaurant is what it is like at home ALL the time.
- Jar cozies to go with my cuppow lids.
- Stopping in to visit a friend and having him pour you a healthy shot of Laphroig 16 to BS over before dinner.
- Turning misfortune into a positive turn of events, using it as a catalyst for healthy change.
- Conversation:
“How are you doing?”
“Meh. … I’m on the meh.”
“What, do we have a meh lab in this house or something?”
- Mid-day pottery therapy.
- Community fish fry with friends, brethren and community.
- A foot rub, a hot bath and blissful sleep after a long, tiring day.
- Looking out the windows and seeing the horses and cows grazing on my front lawn. Heck, I love just sitting and watching them graze not even in the front yard, it’s so relaxing!
- Wildlife count for my run: a fresh baby calf probably only a few days old, a buck that ran across my path in the hollow and a flock (I counted 11) of wild turkeys at the dead end of the road.
- Local BBQ lunches with family.
- Unseasonably perfect weather, driving with the windows down, the music blaring and me singing at the top of my lungs.
