I suppose this is akin to my Best Moments of the Week lists, but a blogger at Bless Her Heart posted about here 30 days of a grateful heart and it sounded like a good idea. I’ve been posting one thing a day over on Facebook, but I figured I’d collect them here for posterity [...] I was messing around with my new copies of Photoshop and Photomatix and went out to shoot some pictures of the cloudy sky one day to test out the HDR. It’s not amazing, but it’s still pretty fun. Certainly makes my boring pasture a little more double plus than it actually [...] We got our first really good frost this morning. We’ve had freezes, but not really good almost hoarfrost like [...] A view of some of the fires over our closest major urban area, for scale. I think I’ve just finally caught my breath. Last week, the Sunday before Labor Day, we had some friends over for a BBQ. It was windy and hot so we mostly stayed in the house all day talking and eating. I came [...] Summer is in full swing and we’ve been constantly busy here. Garden We had to just stop watering the cucumbers, they were producing so much and we couldn’t keep up (they were starting to look ratty anyways, so it was time). [...] We woke up to an inch of snow last Friday, something of a rarity here in Central Texas. A weeks worth of frigid temperatures kept it on the ground for half the day, something even more rare. It was a sparkly and sandy kind of snow. Not at all what I’m used to from snow up [...] Our barn cat, KittyKitty. Our rooster, [...] Some days are better than others. On the days that are better I think that whatever the problem is, I know that I can figure it out, find workarounds and I will make it work. The days that are not so great, like today, it seems like nothing is going right and that I’m really not [...] Warning, these are potentially gorey photos, if you’re squeamish about birth, I’d just skip right past. This morning, I had planned to go into town with Hubs, we were going to be going to lunch and then meeting up with some friends this evening. I had all my stuff packed in the car for the day, [...] Who was born shortly after dawn this [...] |
