Almost two weeks ago I went up with the builder to look at the house at the factory. They were going to try to move it the day after we saw it, or that Friday but the storm that we just missed flying back hit with more rain than we expected. They got over two inches [...] We went out to the land today to get some things, drop some things off and check out progress. I was completely floored at how tall the weeds have gotten in the past month. The thistles alone are 10 feet tall in some places, since they’re not being choked out by the mesquite anymore. The driveway [...] Husband went out to the property last weekend and shredded down the weeds some. It’s a shame we couldn’t have done it a couple weeks ago before everything went to seed but it was too soggy to do much. Things have dried out some finally and they were able to get a couple truck loads of [...] So our builder goes out to the property today to try to get our tractor unstuck (Husband high-centered it on Saturday in the quicksand). He hooks up his tow strap to it, and tries to drag it out, gets about eight feet with it, but then his front tires sink in. Oy. He was supposed to [...] So we closed yesterday (only 19 signatures, I was expecting at least another 10 honestly), and then went out to the property with the builder to stomp around a bit and get some firmer handle on where things will go, which trees are in the way. I hadn’t anticipated going out there and was wearing flip [...] Tomorrow we sign. We close on the construction loan. This is a battle that we originally started three years ago, the actual bank battles started last September. Seven months later, it’s finally all coming together. I’m a little nervous actually.
